Project Western is designed to make joining our community and submitting applications simple and safe. Connecting your Discord account does not download or install anything on your computer, and you will never be asked to download software just to use our website or submit an application.
Project Western uses Discord to identify community members and make the application process easier. When you select "Connect Discord," you are sent through Discord's official authorization page before returning to Project Western.
Official Discord ConnectionProject Western does not need your Discord password. If Discord asks you to sign in, that login happens through Discord itself. Never give your Discord password to another player, staff member, or website claiming to represent Project Western.
Your Password Stays PrivateUsing the Project Western website does not require you to install a program, browser extension, executable, or any other software. Connecting Discord, viewing your application, and submitting an application are all handled through your web browser.
Nothing Is InstalledWhen you connect Discord, Project Western may use basic Discord account information needed to identify you, confirm that you are part of our community, and determine which applications are available to you. Information submitted in an application is used for reviewing that application.
Only What We NeedApplication information is used by Project Western staff to review your request to join a department or community position. Your application tracker allows you to check its status without needing to repeatedly contact staff for updates.
Handled by Project WesternBefore connecting Discord or entering information, make sure you are using the official Project Western website at projectwestern.net. Be cautious of websites, messages, or downloads pretending to represent Project Western.
projectwestern.netProject Western staff will never ask you to send passwords, authentication codes, recovery codes, or other private account credentials. If somebody claims they need this information to verify your account, do not provide it.
Protect Your AccountIf you notice a suspicious link, unexpected login page, impersonation attempt, or anything else that does not look like Project Western, stop and contact our staff through the official Project Western Discord before continuing.
